Grateful

It's not quite Thanksgiving yet, but I'm already feeling grateful. I'm grateful for...

My precious little boy, who makes me smile every day and amazes me with everything new that he learns and does.

My husband, who I simply adore.

My dear, sweet friends here in Tampa, who I could not possibly live without. When your closest family member is 8 hours away, friends become family quickly, and I'm so grateful for mine. They keep Chase and I busy with play dates, challenge me to train for new races and triathlons, and come over for fajitas when Eric is out of town so I don't have to eat alone!

The cool breeze that has lowered our temperature here from 89 to 83 degrees, and suddenly it feels ever so slightly like fall! I checked out weather.com though, and don't worry, it will be back to 89 degrees shortly! There won't be any leaves changing color here, but that's okay... I'd rather be able to keep going to the pool!

Chase has gotten a couple of "big boy" things lately: a booster seat, so he can sit with us at the kitchen table instead of in his high chair and a potty, which he loves to sit on but is still very far from understanding! He is suddenly obsessed with dressing himself too. He's been putting his Crocs on by himself for a while, but now he wants to put his shorts on with no help. The other day I found him trying to put on a pair of my shorts on top of his own! He did pretty well!

We tried finger painting for the first time last week! This event took place outside, with his clothes off, and plenty of newspaper! He loved it for about 10 minutes and then he was very stressed out about how dirty his hands were and he wanted to be hosed off, pronto! His face was a total mess afterwards too... but it was fun!

We've also been playing with sidewalk chalk a lot too. He likes to take his afternoon snack out to the driveway, draw on the ground, and watch the cars drive by.

And I just have to post this picture because it's so cute! Chase is forever opening up the drawer with the oven mitts, putting them on and walking around with them! I love this.
