It seems like every time I tell people that we bought a home on a pond in Florida, their reaction includes something to the effect of, "Watch out for them gators!" I guess I always knew there'd be a chance we would have an alligator in our pond, but somehow I was still surprised to see one on Tuesday night! At first I thought it was just a stick, but then I watched it slowly move and then bob its head under the water and come back up! When it resurfaced, even more of its body was showing and there was no doubt that it was an alligator! A small one... but as my mom so kindly reminded me: where there's a baby, there's a mom and dad! Yikes!

Gator!
