Okay, I'm in serious pain. The kind that makes it hard to put your coat on, walk through a grocery store, or even sleep! Snowboarding was a lot of fun but I sure am paying for it today! The first day I took a quick group lesson to refresh my memory on snowboarding basics. Our instructor's name was Wade and he fit the snowboarding stereotype perfectly by saying things like, "Dude, that's like so totally awesome!" and "Wow, I just like said the word foot and feet and the same time!" But I learned a lot in a few hours and by lunch time I was ready to try out some green slopes. Eric (the expert skiier) was sweet enough to tag along with me as I fell down about 100 times on my first few slopes. We didn't last too long during the afternoon since it was snowing ALL day long and I think the high was about 10 degrees! The extra snow made for some nice conditions on the slopes though. The second day we all slept in really late, had a huge breakfast/lunch, and then hit the slopes for about half a day. For some reason Sunday was a lot more crowded than Saturday so we spent a large part of the day standing in lift lines. That's the downside of going skiing on a holiday weekend. That and they jack up the prices for everything! Fortunately I think I did a little bit better the second day. Eric convinced me to try some blue trails, which actually weren't all that tough. Mostly I was falling forward onto my knees, which made for some awesome looking bruises later that night (see below). Overall, I had a lot of fun and I'm so glad that I decided to try snowboarding again! Hopefully one day I'll be good enough to keep up with Eric... yeah right!

Other than skiing and snowboarding, the weekend was spent playing board games, watching the Olympics, soaking in the (sometimes) hot tub, trying to figure out why we weren't getting any hot water (the pipes froze), and playing Karaoke Revolution on X-Box! I wish I were still there instead of getting ready to go back to work tomorrow! The plus side is that at least I'll be able to just sit still all day and not move a muscle! Sounds good to me!
