Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

In my last post I mentioned that I loved how every one freaked when it snowed in Clemson... well, we're getting ready to have a HUGE snowstorm here and I have to admit that I'm getting a little overly anxious about it! In the past few years that I've lived in Maryland, we've had lots of snow every winter and I've grown kind of used to it. Living in Colorado for 4 years probably helped too. But this winter has been extremely warm so far. For the most part, that's a good thing because it reminds me of South Carolina winters. However, I really do enjoy the snow, especially when I get to miss work because of it! Eric and I bought a couple of sleds when I first moved up here and we'd go up to the local elementary school and join all the kids in a day full of sledding action! Lots of fun. And our dogs love it too! They just run and try to eat ALL of it! It's too funny!

So anyways, today, tonight and tomorrow it's supposed to snow somewhere between 6 and 12 inches! Pictures like this one from Accuweather are just so exciting:

I only wish that it was a week day so I could stay home from work! Oh well. I've had a pretty busy day so far actually. I woke up really early to go run 5 miles with my friend from work. We ran through Patapsco Valley State Park and we each brought a dog to run with! Elvis was the lucky one this time. Berk's a little more lazy and doesn't quite have the same amout of energy that Elvis does. It was snowing lightly while we were running so it was really pretty. It felt good just to get out of the house early in the morning and to be active. I tend not to run as much in the winter because I'm a big wimp and don't like to run in the cold! So it's nice to have a friend to motivate you! And Elvis too of course! He did really well and didn't want to leave!

Then the rest of the day I've been working on putting my parents' home videos onto DVD's. It's a long and boring task but at least I'm being productive and it feels good to be preserving my family's memories. Plus it's kind of neat to see how much we changed over the years! The biggest kick was hearing me talk as a 6 year old when we lived in Myrtle Beach. I had the thickest southern accent I've ever heard in my life! Where it went, I'll never know but I'm sort of grateful that I don't sound like that anymore! ;)

In other news, Elvis got his prize package in the mail yesterday for his award in the "World's Coolest Dog and Cat Show"! He won first place in the category for "sleeper"! He's been waiting anxiously for his prizes to arrive and he was just so excited to get all of the cool stuff! Don't worry, we made sure that he shared everything with Berkeley!

I think maybe I'll take some pictures throughout the weekend to record the progress of the snow storm. I took the first one just a few minutes ago but then my camera batteries died so I'm recharging them at the moment. As soon as they're powered back up I'll download the picture and continue posting more as the snow accumulates! What fun!!
