The funniest thing about these pictures is that they were taken LAST week (31 weeks), and so as I type this, I'm even bigger than I was then! Wow. But a big belly = big babies so I'm happy to get as large as necessary! :)This past Tuesday I had to go to the hospital for my first weekly non-stress test. My doctor said that usually they can do NST's in their office, but for twins, you have to go to the hospital because they need a double monitor. It's no easy task checking in and out of the hospital and hanging out in labor and delivery... so the "non-stress" part of it wasn't really true for me. Once I got all strapped up and settled in my hospital bed with a good book, I was doing much better. The twins did great and their heart rates were just fine. But the nurse got a little freaked out by the number of contractions I was having. I tried to explain that they were just normal Braxton-Hicks contractions, nothing out of the ordinary for me. But he didn't like that answer and called my doctor, who ordered a shot of terbutaline to stop the contractions. UGH! It made me all jittery and yucky-feeling, but they did let me go home after another 30 minutes. I'm hoping and praying that this won't be a weekly thing at these tests! Next week is a big week for the twins: another ultrasound with the perinatal doctor, another NST, and a regular OB appointment. We're getting CLOSE!! :)
