I think I look about the same as I did around 35 weeks pregnant with ONE baby! I've gained about 20 pounds and continue to gain about 1-2 pounds a week!
If you've glanced at my book list (on the lower right side) lately, you'll probably notice that it's a little different these days. I'm doing my best to learn as much as I can about twin pregnancy and raising twins. My friend Lauren in Maryland started me off with 2 books (she has fraternal boy and girl twins who are 2 years old), and I've picked up the rest at the library. I've learned so much so far, but I still have a lot of uncertainty and trouble picturing what this new life will look like. I guess I'll learn as I go! :)
Here are some other ways my life has changed in the last 6 weeks (since we got the news)!
Running: I was running about twice a week, 2-3 miles each time, but I stopped as soon as I found out about the twins. My initial thought was that I would wait and ask the doctor about it, but then I made the decision for myself that it just wasn't a good idea to continue. Running was already SO much more difficult this time around, although I didn't know why. I was extremely uncomfortable and had a lot of hip and back pain afterwards. Now it all makes sense though, and I was kind of glad to give it up for a while. But... you know I'm thinking about it all the time and I'm insanely jealous when I see people out for a run! My training buddies are planning their triathlons for this year and I'm just itching to sign up. I'm thinking maybe I can do one in October?? I'm definitely not going to rush back into running this time after the babies are born. I'm hoping to do a lot of strength training and get stronger first. And I'm hoping that I'll even have time to train!!
Eating: Let's be honest... I'm eating like a maniac! I make myself get second and third helpings of everything, and I give in to every crazy craving no matter how "unhealthy" it is (which Eric LOVES)! Some of my best cravings so far: big greasy bacon cheeseburgers, hot wings and blue cheese, pizza, root beer floats, and fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. Just yesterday I was in Publix and craving some cake, so I walked right over to the bakery and bought a huge slice! The number of calories they tell you to eat with twins varies, but it's usually around 3000/day! So I figure, why not enjoy it while I can!?
Sleeping: I've never taken so many naps in my life!! I'm used to the fatigue that comes with your first trimester of pregnancy, but even at the edge of my third trimester, I'm still so exhausted. I take an afternoon nap almost every day and I sleep in when I can, even though typically I'm a morning person and I'm awake when the sun rises. I just can't seem to get enough sleep!

I am reading The Shack right now and can’t put it down. I even took a day off from my lunch buddies so I could finish another 2 chapters and find out what happened!!
