Eric and I were just discussing the other day how much Siena's personality has really bloomed lately. She is so much fun... always laughing and grinning, or chatting, or screaming at the top of her lungs to express her frustrations!
She has started pointing at things to let us know what she wants: for example, if I walk with her into the kitchen, she'll point to the cabinet with the cups to let me know she wants something to drink. Then I'll walk over to the fridge to get water (out of the door) but she pushes it away and points to the fridge. That means, "There's juice in there and I want it!" When Katie and Karin were here, she started playing this game with them in the backseat of the car where she'd point to the air vents and tell them to open and close them... over and over again! Here's a video clip of that... I think some might find this extremely boring, but to me it's so fascinating that she's learning how to communicate with people around her!
One other communication milestone: she's using baby sign language more often. She now does "more" and "all done" regularly. And instead of signing "thank you," she can now say it... but it comes out, "da tu!" It's the sweetest sound I've ever heard! I like to give her lots of things all day long so I can hear that sweet little "da tu, da tu!" :)
Keep checking back on the blog in the next few days... I have lots to post about!
