Peanut butter

Here's what keeps me laughing... my little monkey, Chase! He always waits for me to open the dishwasher after a meal so he can "help" me by unloading it (while I'm loading it... yeah, he doesn't help too much)! But the other day I was washing dishes and looked down, only to find that Chase had pushed the bottom drawer all the way in and climbed on top of the door!

Eric is finally returning home tomorrow morning after being out of town on business for 2 weeks! I couldn't be happier!!! It was never easy when he went away in the past, but now that we have Chase, it's so much harder. I especially miss him when I'm getting Chase ready for bed at night. Drying him off, putting his diaper on, brushing his teeth, lathering him up in lotion, cleaning his ears, and putting on his pajamas is like wrestling with a greased pig in a mud pit! He is so all over the place these days! There is no such thing as "snuggling" with Chase. He never slows down for a minute. Even right before his nap or bed, he's still clamoring to get down or reaching to grab something. And as soon as he wakes up, he's bouncing up and down in his crib! What a wild child! Good thing our neighbors rented a moon bounce last weekend for their son's birthday party! It was just what Chase needed to get some energy out:

He also enjoyed playing on their swing set:

Yesterday I came across this article in the newspaper!

I was so happy to read that "There is no convincing evidence that delaying the introduction of foods such as eggs, fish or peanut butter to children prevents allergies." Chase has been eating eggs and fish for a while, but I was waiting until he was a year old to give him peanut butter. And my midwife had advised me to avoid peanuts while I was pregnant and breastfeeding. I actually didn't listen to the advice... especially while I was pregnant, because with diabetes, peanuts were one of the only foods I could eat that would fill me up without adding many carbs. Anyways, when I read that article, I ran over to the pantry, grabbed the peanut butter and made Chase a peanut butter sandwich right then! He loved it! And seeing him click his tongue to get all of the peanut butter off the roof of his mouth was really cute!
