Bad news: Chase has decided he doesn't like the hammock anymore! We used to go out in the backyards on nice, not too hot, days and lay in the hammock together while watching the birds and such. Well today Chase pitched a fit. All he wants to do is get down and run (I think he forgets that he can't even walk yet)... so I think it's fair to say that my lazy afternoons are over. Bummer.

Daddy's day off
Eric had the day off yesterday so we decided to take Chase to the aquarium! Chase and I had been once before, but I was anxious to see how he'd react to all of the fish now that he's a few months older. We had a great time... especially at the outdoor play area they have for toddlers! Of course, Chase enjoyed playing with the bark at the edge of the playground much more than going down the slide or riding the turtle!

"Look, it's a baby turtle!"

He's starting to get better at walking while holding our hands... he used to hate doing it, but now he gets this big grin on his face! He's so proud of himself!
Later that night, I went out and took a quick course in self defense at a local martial arts academy! It was completely free, part of our monthly mom's night out with my Stroller Strides group! It was lots of fun and more importantly, made me feel more confident. Everyone should think about taking one of these courses. I think most karate studios offer them.
