Nesting
Well, I guess you could say that Eric and I are in the "nesting" phase right now! There are so many things we've needed to do around the house that we're finally getting around to now that there's a new member of the family on the way! When Berkeley was a puppy he got loose from his crate one day while we were at work and he proceeded to chew a huge hole in our bedroom carpet! We're still not sure why he chose to travel up 2 flights up stairs and concentrate his efforts on that one spot on the floor, but I'm sort of glad that he did! If he had chosen the living room carpet instead, it would've been harder to hide and a lot larger of an area to replace! Our next experience with dog destruction occured just a few months ago when Elvis decided to eat a hole through the plastic tray in the bottom of his crate! That would have been fine, except that he continued to chew downwards and ate the carpet underneath also! So I moved the crate upstairs to the kitchen since it didn't have a bottom on it, figuring that the hard surface of the kitchen floor would be indestructable. I wish I hadn't been so wrong! Elvis somehow figured out how to chew massive holes into our vinyl flooring! We still haven't figured that one out! I ended up getting a friend of mine to make a stainless steel tray for his crate and that was the end of the chewing! Anyways, we're finally get new carpet upstairs and in the basement and I'm so excited to have it over and done with! We decided to tackle the replacement of our master bathroom and kitchen floor ourselves, so we're making frequent trips to Lowes and trying to be handy! The master bathroom had to be done because of some stains caused by Eric lighting some rubbing alcohol on fire (that's a whole other story which deserves it's own blog)! We just finished the bathroom and we're starting on the kitchen next weekend. I think I'll take some before and after pictures and post them when we're done!
