So I know I've mentioned that I have the best parents in the world, but did y'all know that I have the best in-laws too?! Seriously, my friends who have met them always complain that they are so jealous that I have such wonderful in-laws! :) I'm a lucky girl! G-ma and Hansi flew down here to visit for a week, and they watched all 4 children for us at least a dozen times. I got so many things crossed off my to-do list! And best of all, last Saturday Eric and I were able to get away for a little mini vacation! On Saturday morning we drove out to Lake Wales, Florida for the Warrior Dash. The Warrior Dash is a 5K race full of crazy obstacles like mud pits to run through, barbed wire to crawl under, walls to climb over, cars to run on top of, rivers to swim through, and fires to jump across! Eric and I ran the whole thing together (he was sweet enough to wait for me!) and we had so much fun! I lost my shoes in the very first mud pit so I had to run the entire race barefoot!! That was a little bit of a challenge but I loved every minute. I'm pretty sure that's the closest I'll ever get to being on a show like Survivor!
before the race with some friends...
Post race... nice and muddy!
After the race we went back home to shower and then we hopped back in the car and drove down to Longboat Key, about an hour away. We sat on the beach for a few hours and watched the sunset, went to dinner at a nice Belgian restaurant, and enjoyed sleeping in the next morning! So grateful to G-ma and Hansi for giving us the night off!
On the beach on Longboat Key...
The next Monday Eric took the day off of work, and we let Chase miss a day of school, so we could all go to the Children's Museum together. We have an annual pass and we've been a few times before, but Chase and Siena always seem to find something new there and they had a great time!

Jumping over the fire... I think Eric thought he was in a Broadway musical or something!
