Well, it's been a while since I posted anything because I've been out of the office, out of the house, and out of the state since the beginning of the month! It was so nice to be away from work for so long. I really needed the break! My vacation started kind of dangerously... with a flight from DC to Jacksonville right in the middle of Tropical Storm Ernesto! DC got hit pretty hard with the rain and wind from the storm. Actually it wasn't just the flight that seemed dangerous; the ride to the airport was probably scarier! My sister-in-law Katie had joined me for the ride and on the way, a car pulled out right in front of us and spun out, causing us to slam into the back of it. Fortunately we were okay, the people in front of us were okay, and both cars seemed fine, surprisingly. I got to the airport in time and my flight was actually on time despite the fact that every other flight leaving from Reagan that night was delayed! I was so glad to get to Jacksonville on time, see Eric, and then drive north to Georgia. The next day we drove even farther to Charleston. We loved watching the first Clemson game and eating wings with my family! They just don't have good wings restaurants up north and this is something we really miss. Plus the fact that Clemson won just made the whole weekend perfect! The rest of weekend was spent playing golf with my dad, mini-golf with the rest of the family, and eating ice cream at Marble Slab! Eric left to head back to work on Monday night and I stayed with my family until the next Friday. I really didn't do much all week, which was so nice! I ran every morning, watched tv, took naps, ate a lot, shopped, drank Chik-fil-a milkshakes (my mom's new weakness)... that's pretty much it! And of course I spent lots of time with everyone and just enjoyed their company. I especially liked going to Abbie's karate practice! She's a junior orange belt now and just so talented! On Friday afternoon I drove back to meet Eric in GA and then we drove to Amelia Island in Florida for the weekend. We stayed at a cute B&B called the
Addison, visited the beach, got sunburnt because I bought some no-name sun block at the gas station because I forgot mine and that's all they had, and watched the Tigers lose their first game of the season which was really, really sad. I can't believe we lost in double OT to Boston College! I'm still in shock. Anyways... I'm back at home now and back at work, which means continuing my countdown on how many days I have left in my office! 110! Can't wait. Here are some random pics from my lazy, but fun, vacation:

My sisters and I... why are they so much darker than me!?

Who wears a purse playing mini-golf? Obviously not a professional.
