Need some good reading material? I LOVE this reporter on Fox News. His name is Father Jonathan Morris. That's right, he's a Catholic priest. Not really sure how he ended up working for Fox News, but I'm glad that he does. He offers opinions on current issues in his daily blog: www.foxnews.com/fatherjonathan. I find that about 99% of the time I agree with what he has to say. He seems so logical in his thought process and so reasonable in his conclusions. In his most recents entries he discusses how he decided to become a priest, which is just fascinating. Really interesting stuff.
Name one thing about yourself that people may not know: I lose my toenails quite often. It's the strangest thing... one day they're there and the next, they're gone! I'm pretty sure it's related to running since they tend to fall off after a big race or a particularly long run. Right now I have 2 that are about to go. One time I lost my big toenail entirely... but that was because Eric and I ran into each other, literally, in Paris and somehow it became detached in the process. If you're thinking, "gross!", you're right! It was disgusting! Thank goodness for the ever-present McDonald's, where I was able to find a clean restroom and paper towels to take care of it. It grew back in case you're wondering. But I'm really bummed out about the 2 more that are about to fall off. It's almost flip-flop season and I know it's just going to be another long summer where I'm indecisive about whether to wear close-toed shoes or gross people out.
I just helped Jessica make a reservation to go on a cruise in September with Joe. I'm SO jealous! But it was fun to help her find the best cruise to go on and to help her book it. It was really exciting! Maybe I should have been a travel agent.
Last night I woke up to find Elvis in the shower. I have no idea why he chose to go in the shower, but I think he wasn't feeling well. I just went back to bed. Then I woke up again when I heard him running into the windows. He was literally just running straight into the windows, hitting the blinds and waking me up. I listened for a few more minutes and then decided to get up when I heard him go into the bathroom again. He was in the shower...again. I took him outside and he did his business and we came back inside. Such a strange night!
Yesterday I had to fill up with gas and I noticed that my odometer read 400 miles!! This is definitely a first. Usually I have to fill up at 340-360 miles. That means I got nearly 40 miles to the gallon! I drive a Toyota Corolla and I'm really happy with it so far. It's a great car! I do miss driving an SUV though. I had 2 jeeps previously and I really miss them. But I always feel better when I have to stop for gas and find that I'm getting awesome gas mileage. Saving money is a favorite pastime of mine. Especially now that gas prices are going up again. Eric is about to buy an SUV and I'm kind of dreading the amount of money we'll spend on gas. But I AM glad that we won't have to try to squeese items such as a new grill in the back seat of my Corolla, or fit a Christmas tree in the trunk! Or go to IKEA to buy a bookcase, only to find that we can't bring it home because it won't fit in the car!
