There's a first time for everything...

Yesterday Siena went to Dinosaur World for the first time! I like the fact that every day holds a new "first" for her. Here are some of the places she's been in the past 4 weeks: Target, Publix, Premier Care Pediatrics, Moe's, Longhorn Steakhouse, the Florida Aquarium, Giordano's Pizza, my midwives' office, Panera Bread, Jackie, Andrea, and Kristen's houses, Tampa Bay Brewing Company, Brandon Mall, Eric's office, and most recently, Dino World! Every time we go somewhere new, I tell Siena, "This is your first time at (fill in the blank)!" And she seems pretty happy about it.

Chase was pretty happy about Dino World as well. It was his second time there. We went with Mia and her parents, and I'm almost certain that Chase was more excited about seeing Mia than he was about the dinosaurs. They had so much fun running around together! I took this video clip with my camera... can't quite figure out how to turn it around, but I love it anyways!

Overall, Siena is a really easy baby so far! Can't believe it's already been 4 weeks. She's kind of inconsistent with how often she needs to eat. Sometimes she's hungry again after just an hour... sometimes she can make it 3 hours. At night she's been waking up every 2 hours, but then last night she surprised me by sleeping 4.5 hours straight! Of course, it's scary at first when babies sleep longer than they have before... you wake up with that panicked feeling. But then it feels so nice to realize you just got over 4 hours of sleep! It's amazing how much you take that for granted.

Last night, before we went to bed, Eric and I got a quick lesson in parenting. Lesson: You should listen to your child when they're yelling, "Mommmmmmmy!" at the top of their lungs! Chase is not the greatest at staying in his bed after we tuck him in for the night. He usually gets up right away and plays for a while, or for some reason he likes to lay right by his door and talk to himself a bit. Occasionally he calls out for us and we go in there to tuck him back in, but typically I only do that once or twice because otherwise it gets a little out of control. He'll call you a million times and let you tuck him in a million times if you let him. Anyways, last night we tucked him in like usual, and I went in there to check on him about 10 minutes later when I heard him at the door. He had taken his pull-up and pajama pants off and changed into some very colorful plaid shorts! I asked him where his pull-up was and he said "in the hamper!" Well, that usually means he has to pee, so I took him to the bathroom, he took care of business, and I tucked him back in. We heard him at the door a short time later but didn't think much of it. After about 20 minutes, Eric caved in and went back to check on him again. I actually told him he shouldn't, but man, am I glad that he did! Turns out that Chase pooped in his pull-up, took it off and tried to clean up the resulting mess! This was a really strange occurrence for Chase because 1) he always poops in the morning and 2) he hasn't gone in pull-up or diaper in a LONG time! After changing his clothes and cleaning the carpet, we finally put him back in bed. As I tucked him again, this was our conversation:

Chase: "Chase said, "MOMMY! POO POO!"
Me: "You tried to call mommy to tell me you had to poo poo?"
Chase: "Yes!"
Me: "I'm so sorry, Chase, I didn't hear you." (not entirely true!)
Chase: "Mommy busy. Daddy help Chase. Daddy nice!"

He knows just how to get me! :) At least he still said "love you!" as I walked out the door!!
