One other thing about Chase: he is being so much more affectionate lately! He's been giving us kisses (finally!), wanting to hold my hand, and snuggling!!! The snuggling thing is so not like him, but it's been really nice. Even when he was an infant, he was always trying to get out of our arms. But for some reason, the last week or two has been completely different. He lays his head on our shoulder when he gets tired and he'll even fall asleep in our arms! I'm not sure why he suddenly loves us so much but needless to say, I don't mind one bit!

Our little monkey!
Guess what Chase did this past weekend? He climbed out of his crib!!! Our crazy little monkey, who is not even 15 months old yet, has already figured out how to get out of his crib. We can hardly believe it... but at the same time, we can, because we see how good he is at climbing on everything during the day! (Observe Exhibit A):
This is what happened: On Saturday morning we woke up bright and early for our 5K race. Our babysitter came over at 6am. We told her that Chase usually wakes up at 6:30am. The race went great, by the way! I set a new PR for myself (21:22) and finished first in my division! So I was really happy when we got home at 9:30am. Well, Casey, our babysitter, told us that everything went great... except that the morning started off kind of weird. She said that at 7:45am Chase still hadn't woken up, so she peaked in to check on him. She didn't see him at first and started panicking (understandably)! Upon closer inspection, she found him curled up asleep on the floor beside his crib!! At first she was worried that he wasn't breathing or was hurt, but it turns out he was just fine, woke up, and acted like nothing was out of the ordinary! We have no idea when he got out of his crib or why he sleep until almost 8 o'clock! Maybe the floor is more comfortable than the bed? Or maybe he was up playing with his toys all night?? I'm just glad that we don't leave his door open because I know exactly what he would do! He'd head straight to the kitchen, empty the pantry and then go dance on the kitchen table! Anyways, now I'm so paranoid at night. Every time I hear him make a peep, I run in to check on him! Who knows when he'll decide to escape again! I'm looking into getting one of those crib tents for him but I hate to do it.

Too cute!
21:22 is decent, I guess, if you're going for speed. But I prefer to keep it around 27ish so I don't miss all the lovely sights around me! Good Job! How funny is your child???
Oh, I just love that last photo. My little guy is 2 1/2 and the only time I get some sweet cuddle time is when he's sleeping, so I try to hold him at night sometimes for a little while. Otherwise it's kicking, hitting, lunging, hopping, jumping and WILD! Gotta love those boys!
