Daddy's day off, part 2!

On Friday, Eric took the day off. At first, it was just so that he could go to Chase's 12 month check-up with me and meet his doctor for the first time. We had a great pediatrician back in Maryland that Eric had met several times, but he had never met his new one here in Tampa. Anyways, we went to Chase's appointment in the morning and everything was fine... he's now about 31" tall (80th percentile) and 21 lbs, 13 ounces (36th percentile). His weight is about the same as it was during out 9 month visit, but I think that's pretty normal based on what I've heard about some of Chase's friends who are the same age. They start getting so much more active at this age and it's hard to put on weight. He's still growing taller though! Not surprising! When we got home, Chase took a 2 hour nap, which is out of the ordinary but so nice! Maybe due to the 2 shots? After lunch, we decided that since Eric was home and the weather was so nice, we should load up the car and take a trip to the zoo! We had purchased a zoo membership back in August and haven't been back since, so I definitely wanted to start taking advantage of the free admission! This was Chase's 3rd visit to this particular zoo, but we love it! There are so many interactive things for kids to do! Here are some pictures from our day:

Daddy (the Biology major) explaining the difference between an ape and a monkey to Chase (I was totally lost during this conversation!):

Petting a pony:
Zebra:

Feeding a giraffe (this is one of the coolest things at the Tampa zoo!):

The giraffes get SO close!

Chase is laughing at them...

Petting the stingrays:
He was really excited about this big fish:

hey shannon! it's funny, adri is also in the 80th percentile for height but 36th for weight. Isn't that weird. She's also a blondie with the same birthday. Maybe they are destined to be married one day. :)
