It's Saturday...

It's Saturday, time to blog... but I can't think of much to say today! This week has been a little rough because BOTH of the dogs were really sick. We gave them some new treats last Sunday and we've been paying for it ever since! I shouldn't go into all of the details, but the point is that we didn't get much sleep this week. Berkeley and Elvis couldn't sleep so neither could we! Thankfully that's all over now and things are back to normal!

Today's been a pretty typical Saturday so far. I woke up, took the dogs out, fed them, fed myself, and then watched some TV (Fox & Friends, like every morning). Then I cleaned the shower and starting working on ridding our computer of some kind of spyware. I'm getting to the point where I just hate to be on the computer because there always seems to be a problem with it. A few weeks ago we had trouble with our internet browser and finally we discovered that it was a virus. So we made the trip out to Best Buy to buy some Norton software. $40 later, our computer was working properly again. But lately we've been getting loads of pop-up ads, some of which are a bit x-rated. We have a pop-up blocker, virus software and AdAware, but obviously those weren't working. It's some kind of spyware that's installed itself on our computer somehow and causes pop-ups to appear, no matter which website we're on. So this morning I did some research on the internet, found some more free anti-spyware software and downloaded. Did numerous scans and hopefully fixed the problem. Computers can be so frustrating! I guess it's not so much the computer itself, but the random people out there who try to ruin everyone else's lives by inventing these viruses and stuff. Do they not have anything better to do?! Ack... get a life! Do more exciting stuff like me (read further to find out details)...

So after wasting about an hour on the computer, I took the dogs for a walk. Then I ate some lunch and watched my new favorite channel: HGTV. After that I started working on the family home video project that I've been working on for MONTHS! I'm transferring all of my parents' home videos onto DVDs. And today I finished!!! What a relief! It was fun to watch myself open every Christmas present I've ever received, but I'm really glad to be done. Then I decided to vacuum and mop the kitchen floor and now I'm writing on my blog! It's all very exciting, I know! But that's okay because next week is going to be awesome and I can deal with a little dullness leading up to it. I probably won't be able to write next Saturday since I'll be down in Charleston, but I'll be sure to post pictures and give a full report when I get back.

I have had the same problems with spyware that you are going through until I started using MasSecure Spyware Detector. I have not found a free product that works good yet. Most of the free products identify and only remove spyware from 1 directory and do not have a great rating, real-time monitoring, backup restore, auto updates, and a cookie blocker. Microsoft sometimes suggest using Ad-Aware, which does not work. Here is a link for a free trial of MaxSecure Spyware Detector that will help you out: https://www.plimus.com/jsp/download_trial.jsp?contractId=1636632&referrer=jtaylor
I hope this helps you.

Right now whatever I did seems to be working... but next time we get a new computer I will definitely take your advice into consideration, TJ! :)
